Press Release: Graceway Customer Announcement
/Following the Premier’s recent announcement, we want to write and update you on the measures we continue to take and what new things you will begin to see in our stores over the next few days.
We want to reassure our customers and everyone on island that grocery stores are considered essential services and will remain open during the three (3) weeks curfew. Therefore, travel for grocery shopping or any essential services is considered legitimate reason to travel.
Food for all
From Thursday 26th March, we will be making the following changes:
Our opening hours to the general public will be from 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
The Gourmet store and Grand Turk stores will be open to the general public from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
As mandated in the Emergency Powers Regulations, the first hour, 7am – 8am will be for; the elderly (+70 years old), the disabled and essential workers who will be asked to present their ID upon entry.
To ensure more people have access to everyday essentials, we have introduced a storewide restriction of 2 items per customer on every product line excluding fresh produce. Where necessary and in order to provide for everyone, we may reduce this to 1 item per customer on selected products. We have more stock coming into stores every day – but we need everyone’s help: please buy only what you need, so that there is enough for everyone.
Safety for everyone
To ensure we are doing everything possible to reduce the risk of infection for our customers and colleagues, we will begin to introduce new social distancing measures in stores in the coming days; these include:
Floor markings in our car parks to help you to maintain safe distances when queuing outside the stores.
Where necessary, we will limit the flow of people coming into our stores to ensure they don’t get too congested.
Hand sanitizers are being placed around our stores for customers and colleagues to use, as well as extra cleaning products to wipe down your trolley or basket.
New floor markings will help you to keep a safe distance from others while waiting to pay.
This is a challenging time for the whole country, but we are committed to playing our part in feeding the people of TCI and to keeping everyone safe.
We also need your help to change the way you shop with us, so here are a few simple requests to help us serve you better:
Before you leave home, please bring enough bags for your shop. If it’s raining, don’t forget an umbrella too, in case you need to queue outside the store.
Please shop with no more than one other person per household, which will help to reduce the number of people in-store at any one time.
Please use our cleaning stations to wipe your trolley.
Please be kind to our colleagues as they’re working hard to serve you; we’re all in this together.
We want to thank our suppliers, our colleagues – and especially you, our customers – for understanding and helping. We know these are some big changes, and we will all need to do our very best to adjust. We will continue to update you as things change.
Together, we can do this.
Sincerely,
The Graceway Supermarkets Team
