ABOUT GRACEWAY COMMUNITIES
For over two decades, Graceway has been more than just a grocery store in the Turks and Caicos. Through Graceway Communities, we've become a pillar of support for our islands. From equipping students with essential supplies at Back-to-School Fairs across South Caicos, Grand Turk, Middle Caicos, and North Caicos to our annual "Feed the Thousands" initiative ensuring 1,000 families have a full plate, we're committed to making a difference.
But our impact goes deeper. We celebrate local heroes with our "Charity of the Month" program, showcase the bounty of our islands with special Earth Day markets, and champion environmental sustainability through "Staying Blue." This innovative program tackles plastic bag use while giving back to the communities we call home.
Staying Blue: Reduce, Reuse & Give Back!
Graceway Communities launched the Staying Blue token scheme in early 2019 to reduce single-use bags in stores and do good in the local community.
Every few months donations up to $10,000 is distributed between three community causes, these could be for school equipment upgrades, environmental actions, social outreach initiatives, senior citizen care or health charity activities.
In stores, our customers are given a Staying Blue token at the checkout for every bag they reuse for shopping. They can place their token(s) in one of three local causes which are allocated their own token boxes. Graceway Communities donates 10¢ for each token for the first 100,000 tokens, so the more tokens a cause receives the larger the donation.
Staying Blue is about working together as a community for the islands and the ocean around us. Together we can reduce humans’ footprints on the environment and support our local communities.
