Earth Day Thanks

Graceway Communities, Graceway Supermarket’s charitable arm, promoted Earth Day and this year’s theme, “Restore our Earth,” through an Earth Day Market.

Local growers from throughout the Turks and Caicos were invited to join us and promote themselves and have the opportunity to sell their plants. There was a fantastic turn out with vegetable and fruit plants, herbs, decorative plants and more for sale. We were happy to work with, and want to deeply thank, Caicos Acres Farms, Grow TCI, TCI Horticulture Society, Isaacs Farm, Don’s Plants, La Finca Farm, and the Green Room for participating.

We partnered with The Agricultural Department, DECR, Flamingo Pharmacy and the Reef Fund to provide education, giveaways, trivia, presentations and more!

Graceway Communities also organized a very successful raffle, with all proceeds going to the Reef Fund. Graceway Communities would like to thank all of the very kind and generous businesses which donated prizes towards this initiative. Very big thank you as well goes to Sunshine Nursery for loaning the market plants for display, and providing seed packets for giveaway in Grand Turk. Sunshine Nursery and Environmental Arts were both generous in their donation of plants for sale with all proceeds going towards the Reef Fund. Graceway Communities also made a donation to the Reef Fund of $1,000.

The turn out was phenomenal and received by the community well beyond our expectations. We already have requests for another market next year!

Graceway Communities, again, would like to thank all partners for joining us, thank you to our customers for supporting the Reef Fund and local growers, as well as all the businesses that donated. There is always an overwhelming sense of gratification and pride in what we do when we see our community come together to support and educate themselves about a good cause. We would like to remind everyone that everyday is earth day, and to continuously educate yourself on environmental causes and sustainability- especially those that directly impact our beautiful island of the Turks and Caicos.
